This edition of The Therapy Spot is for anyone who has ever thought “if only my partner would start doing this..” or “if only partner would stop doing that…”
If you feel like your partner doesn’t consider your needs and wants, then you are most likely unhappy. It’s always easy to see what our partner is doing (or not doing) that should change. After all, they’re right in front of us.
The reality of a relationship is that it’s a system, an entity by itself. Change one piece of the relationship and the relationship changes too.
Today I focus on how to show up and be visible in what you want or need despite the fact it might be different than what your partner wants or needs.
Another resource for improving your visibility is my blog post, “Listen Horizontally and Get Better Connected.”
